Matt Bloomfield for Town Council

Resources

The documents and tools residents ask me about most — gathered in one place.

A lot of good questions come down to "where do I find that?" Below are the official Town of Snowflake and Navajo County resources I point people to most often. These links go to town and county sites, which change from time to time — if one ever leads you astray, the Planning & Zoning and Building Safety offices at Town Hall can point you the right direction, and you're always welcome to email me.

Snowflake General Plan

The General Plan is the town's long-range roadmap. It lays out our community's vision for land use, traffic, open space, housing, water resources, and economic development, and it guides how the Council and staff weigh decisions about growth and annexation. If you want to understand where Snowflake is headed and why, this is the document to read.

Zoning Map

Zoning determines what can be built where — residential, agricultural, commercial, industrial, and everything in between. This interactive map lets you look up the zoning district for any property in town. It's the first stop before you plan a project, buy a lot, or ask how the parcel next door can be used.

Property Ownership Map

Navajo County's parcel viewer shows property boundaries, ownership, and parcel numbers across the county, including Snowflake. It's useful for understanding lot lines, looking up a parcel, or researching land before a purchase or a project.

Building Code — 2018 International Building Code (IBC)

As of October 7, 2021, all construction in Snowflake must meet the 2018 International Building Code. It's the standard our Building Safety Department uses to protect the safety of everyone who lives in and visits a structure. If you're designing or building, this is the code your plans need to satisfy.

Building Permits

By law, you need a building permit to construct, alter, or add to most structures in town. The Building Safety Department reviews plans, issues permits, and inspects work through a three-step process: plan review, permit issuance, and inspection. Start here to find out whether your project needs a permit and what to submit.

Starting a Business in Snowflake

Most businesses operating in Snowflake need a town business license. This application walks you through what the town needs to get you licensed and open. If you're bringing a new business to town, welcome — we want to help you succeed.
